The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) organized an Aquatic Education Clinic "Let's Go Fishing," which took place on April 7-9, 2025, for fifth-grade students in Sabine Parish. The clinic was held at Cypress Bend Park. While at the event, students explored various stations where they engaged in hands-on activities and listened to insightful presentations provided by LDWF biologists and agents. The students learned how to tie different types of knots, identify various fish species, reel casting techniques, and about boat safety. With the support of volunteers from the Toledo Bend Lake Association, many students had the opportunity to catch their first fish or turtle. Thank you to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries' Biologists and Agents, as well as the volunteers from the Toledo Bend Lake Association, for continuing to make this event successful year after year.
