What do we want every Sabine Parish graduate to know, be able to do, and become by the time they earn their diploma? That question led us to develop our Portrait of a Sabine Graduate.
This portrait was created with input from stakeholders across Sabine Parish, including teachers, administrators, students, parents, community members, business and industry leaders, and the School Board. Together, they identified the skills and qualities our students need to be successful not only in college and careers, but throughout life.
The Portrait of a Sabine Graduate highlights six key areas we want every student to develop:
College & Career Ready Academic Skills
Real World Readiness
Self-Awareness
Self-Motivation & Perseverance
Effective Communication & Collaboration
Leadership
This serves as a guide for the work happening in our schools every day. It helps shape classroom instruction, school leadership, student opportunities, and the decisions we make as a district. Whether we're planning lessons, supporting teachers, or developing school improvement goals, we want those efforts to move students toward the vision outlined in this portrait.
Our goal is simple: Every graduate leaves Sabine Parish prepared with the knowledge, skills, and character to succeed in college, career, and life.
