Standards Review

The Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) called for a review of the Louisiana Student Standards for English language arts and mathematics. The current standards were established in 2016.   BESE policy, Bulletin 741 - Louisiana Handbook for School Administrators, §2301, states, “The Louisiana content standards shall be subject to review and revision to maintain rigor and high expectations for teaching and learning. Such review of each content area shall occur at least once every seven years.”

The feedback provided on this form will be shared with BESE in March 2026 along with the draft of the revised K-12 Louisiana Student Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics.
