Vision Statement
Building a Stronger Sabine Parish, One Student at a Time
Building a stronger Sabine Parish: Our students are the future of our community. All stakeholders at Sabine Parish Schools must work together in partnership to support them to realize their full potential and become productive citizens. Our ultimate goal is to prepare students for the life they choose. Whether they decide to stay in Sabine Parish or live elsewhere, our students will always have roots here and we believe that making our community stronger will support all students- present and future.
One student at a time: We believe that in order to reach our goals, we must celebrate and nurture the individuality of each student. Teachers understand that each child is different, and the path to their brighter future needs to be tailored to their individual needs.
Mission Statement
Sabine Parish Schools, in collaboration with all stakeholders, strives to provide educational experiences that challenge and develop the whole child in a safe, caring, and inclusive environment in order to build the leadership and life skills that will allow them to grow into productive citizens.
Educational experiences that challenge students: All students at Sabine Parish Schools will have choices depending on the pathway they choose. They will participate in STEM activities and hands-on, project based learning. Observers will see student led instruction and multiple opportunities for collaboration. The teacher will serve as the facilitator, while the students engage in the heavy lifting. Students will be seen listening to each other intently, respectfully discussing their work using grade appropriate academic language, and debating using evidence.
Whole child development: Sabine Parish Schools will focus on the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth of all students through social emotional learning instruction and activities that are aligned with students’ personal and developmental needs. social emotional learning instruction will be a core part of the instructional program at Sabine Parish that staff feel inspired and equipped to implement. Students will be able to pursue their unique interests through extracurricular activities and all students will be able to have a role in school functions, whether academic or extracurricular.
Safe, caring, and inclusive environment: Students will be eager to come to school. They will be happy, engaged, and will feel safe to take risks, knowing that their voice matters. Staff work to develop authentic relationships with students, get to know their unique personalities and learning styles, and promote active engagement with families. Staff feel supported in doing this just as much as they do with academics.
Leadership and life skills: Students at Sabine Parish will have the opportunity to assume leadership roles at school. There will be student led programs and teachers will develop students’ knowledge and possession of 21st century workplace skills. Students will be encouraged to learn self-regulation skills and engage in conflict resolution.
