About Sabine Parish
Sabine Parish School District is comprised of ten schools. Five K-12 schools, two elementary schools, one middle school, and two high schools. A variety of educational programs provide students with many learning opportunities. Examples include universal pre-kindergarten programs and special education services. Sabine is implementing the Louisiana Student Standards (LSS) and expanding opportunities for teachers to participate in professional development activities. A strong technology infrastructure provides Internet to every classroom.
The Superintendent and School Board have worked with district staff and community to formulate instructional goals and strategies to meet accountability requirements of ESSA. Each component of the district's educational strategy represents a progressive attitude that are supported by students, teachers, parents, and community.
Sabine Parish is located in west-central Louisiana, bounded by Toledo Bend Lake on the west side. Golfing and world class fishing are only a part of the scenic piney woods attractions for tourist and outdoor sportsmen. Tourism, the timber industry, and farming are the principle income sources. Only a couple of hours from a number of major metropolitan areas, the tranquil area around Toledo Bend attracts a growing number of retirees
