Sabine Parish School District

The Choctaw Apache Tribe of Ebarb held their 30th Annual Powwow April 28th - 29th, 2023.  On Friday, April 28th, Sabine Parish 7th graders were invited to attend the Indian education demonstration day. Students were able to visit several stations to learn about Native American culture, see the beautiful regalia worn by the dancers, and watch a mini Powwow. Students enjoyed sampling Indian fry bread, listening to Native American Storytelling, learning about trapping, meat curing and food canning, as well as how to play Stickball - Ishtaboli. There were a variety of arts and crafts and food vendors. It was a great event that was enjoyed by all in attendance. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible.
