safe schools

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Over the next few weeks, Sabine Parish Schools' students in grades 6th-12th will learn information on how they can help make their school and community safer by reporting dangerous or concerning behaviors. The Crimestoppers Safe Schools Louisiana anonymous reporting solution will be reviewed with our students, as well as the design and usage of the Safe Schools free mobile app and web reporting features. Students will be encouraged to download the free mobile app with their parent's permission. Please note the app is also available to all parents and guardians free of charge through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Cell Phone reporting should take place after school hours only. During school hours, students may report concerns in-person to a trusted adult or via the Safe Schools web link.

Students can use the Safe Schools Louisiana App or webpage to report anonymously a variety of different situations that threaten their safety or the safety of others. Reporting can address bullying, suicide concerns, depression, sexting, theft, threats, cutting, abuse, dating/domestic violence, fights, drugs, alcohol, weapons or other dangerous situations. All valid reports will be taken seriously and result in actions for the purpose of prevention and/or intervention.

Safe Schools Louisiana will help keep our students and our schools safer by:

Creating a positive school culture and community

Giving students a voice to share concerns

Gathering and reporting information to proactively address concerns

Preventing tragedies from a personal to community level

Building trust within our school community

Please encourage your student to use this life saving technology to protect our schools and communities. You may also visit the Safe Schools Website to learn more about the program at www.safeschoolsla.com. We are excited to continue our partnership with Safe Schools of Louisiana and Crime Stoppers and look forward to enhanced safety in 2024-2025.

Sincerely,

 Shane Wright
