In its most recent release of District and School Performance Scores today, the Louisiana

Department of Education was pleased to announce that Louisiana students demonstrated

consistent academic growth for the third consecutive year. Similarly, Sabine Parish Schools has

reason to celebrate! Our 2024 District Performance Score landed at an impressive 87.3, the

highest in its history on the current rating system, marking the third consecutive year of district-

wide academic growth. This achievement is a testament to all stakeholders and is a win for all

Sabine Parish Communities.

Highlights from our 2024 school performance scores are as follows:

  • Seventy percent (70%) of Sabine Schools demonstrated an increase in their LDOE

    School Performance Score (EHS, FHS, MJHS, MHS, NHS, PHHS, & ZES)

  • Zwolle Elementary School showed the most significant SPS increase (6.5)

  • Half of all Sabine Schools now hold an “A” rating, the most in district history (EHS,

    FHS, MHS, NHS, & ZHS)

  • Many High School earned the highest SPS of all Sabine Schools (101.3)

Several schools were also awarded notable accolades from the LDOE for their outstanding

service and commitment to students.

Five schools earned the prestigious “Top Gains School” moniker for demonstrating exceptional

student progress from one year to the next. Sabine awardees include Florien, Many Elementary,

Many High, Negreet, and Zwolle High.

Three schools earned the prestigious “Opportunity Honoree” designation for their excellence in

educating certain subgroups of students, including economically disadvantaged students,

students learning English as a second language, and students with disabilities. Sabine awardees

include Many High, Negreet, and Zwolle High.

Superintendent Shane Wright emphasized that the district's success is due to a collective effort.

He stated, “Our teachers, school staff, school administrators, and district staff have worked

diligently to ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed. This year’s data reflects the

hard work of our students and all the stakeholders that support them on a daily basis. I am proud

of our schools and the collective designations awarded and look forward to many years of

continued success for Sabine Parish Schools.”
