Freestate Festival collage with various photos of festival activities and participants. At the center, 'FREESTATE FESTIVAL' is displayed in large block letters, with 'FREESTATE' in gray and 'FESTIVAL' in yellow below it. To the left of the text, there's a logo with two crossed rifles and the words 'Sabine Freestate Festival.' Surrounding the title are photos of people engaged in festival activities: children and families gathering around displays, people learning about historical artifacts, a sheriff's booth, games, and an inflatable attraction. The bottom row features crowds, a historical reenactor, festival staff assisting visitors, and children watching a large construction vehicle demonstration. The event appears to celebrate community, history, and local culture.

The Village of Florien hosted its 45th Annual Sabine Freestate Festival on October 31 – November 2, 2025. On Friday, October 31st, fourth-grade students from across Sabine Parish participated in the Sabine Freestate Festival Educational Day.

Students rotated through a variety of hands-on demonstrations and presentations highlighting Louisiana’s history, culture, and local industries. Exhibits included Civil War life and black powder demonstrations, sugar cane syrup cooking, pottery, spinning and weaving, chuckwagon cooking, cowboy life, historic games, and more. Students also learned about fire safety from the South Sabine Fire Department, explored forestry industry exhibits, and viewed a medical helicopter presentation by Pafford Air.

Special thanks to Clancey Stewart and the Sabine Freestate Festival Committee for organizing this outstanding event, which offered students a memorable and educational experience celebrating the rich history and heritage of Sabine Parish.
