The Carolyn Wood Gewin Future Teacher Scholarship honors the legacy of Carolyn Wood Gewin by supporting graduating seniors of Sabine Parish Schools who aspire to become educators.
This $1,000 annual scholarship will be awarded to two graduating seniors from the graduating classes of 2026 through 2035.
The recipient will be selected by the Sabine Parish School Board, with emphasis on character, commitment to education, and passion for teaching.
Each school's counselor or graduation coach will collect applications and submit them to the SPSB Central Office no later than Monday, April 20, 2026. Applications received after this date will not be accepted.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Be a graduating senior from a Sabine Parish High School
• Demonstrate intent to pursue a career in education
Selection Criteria:
• Completed Application Submitted by Due Date: April 20, 2026
• Enrollment in a postsecondary program leading to a degree in education prioritized
• Exhibit strong character, leadership potential, and commitment to serving others
