A group of staff and students

On June 23rd, Teacher Leaders, Ali Ezernack and Frances Sylvia, accompanied 6 Sabine Parish students to the national Educators Rising Conference in Washington D.C. The students that attended were: Converse High School-Katelen Bennett, Annabelle Bagley, Willa Gregston, and Kayleigh Johnston. Many High School-ShaeAunna Johnson. Negreet High School-Riley Greer. In order to qualify to attend the National convention, these students participated in and placed in the top 5 at the regional level, along with state competitions held earlier this year. The purpose of this exciting event is to allow these ladies to compete at the national level, attend networking events, as well as gain further insight into the education profession.

Willa Gregston and ShaeAunna Johnson competed in the Educators Rising Moment speech competition. While Kayleigh Johnston and Annabelle Bagley competed in the job interview competition. Riley Greer competed in Impromptu Speaking. Katelen Bennett is representing our parish, as well as our state, as an Educators Rising National Officer. She is the first and only Louisiana Educators Rising National officer to be elected.

To say that these young ladies represented our parish well is an understatement. Each of them come from very different backgrounds and managed to bond over a common subject, Education. Sabine parish would be extremely lucky to employ any one of these girls in the future. Good luck ladies and thank you for a job well done!
