Sabine Makes Gains

Sabine Ranks 13th out of 64 Districts in the State

November 17, 2022 - Sabine Parish School District received a district performance score of 86.1, “B”,
ranking them 13th in the state and improving from 82.8 “B” in 2021. Among the ten school systems
within the Central Region, Sabine is ranked second overall. Sabine Parish schools continue to make gains
despite two challenging years of CoVid shutdowns and delays.
Five schools are among the highest recognition from the LDOE, the “Top Gains” distinction for student
growth and received an “A” letter grade for helping students grow year-over-year. The schools include
Many High, Negreet High, Zwolle High, Florien High, Many Elementary, and Pleasant Hill.
Three schools were named “Equity Honorees” by the LDOE for demonstrating excellence in educating
students with disabilities and students who are economically disadvantaged. Many High, Negreet High and
Zwolle High are among those recognized.
Three schools continue to demonstrate high student performance to earn “A” grades, while 70% of the schools
improved their overall school performance score. Many High, Negreet, and Zwolle High continue to receive an
“A” letter grade for overall performance. Many Elementary, Many Junior High, Ebarb High, Zwolle High, Florien
High, Pleasant Hill and Negreet High are among the schools improving their overall score.
Many Elementary demonstrated the most improvement in their overall SPS improving 11.6 points, followed by
Negreet improving 10.2 points, Florien improving 5.4 points, Ebarb improving 4.6 points, Pleasant Hill
improving 3.2 points, Many Junior High improving 2.4 points, and Zwolle High improving 1.6 points.
Converse High School demonstrated the most growth in the high school assessment index improving 6.3 points,
followed by Many High improving 5.5 points.
Ebarb School demonstrated the most improvement in the high school progress index improving 4.3 points.
Pleasant Hill High demonstrated the most improvement in the ACT index improving 14 points, followed by
Negreet improving 12.9 points, Ebarb improving 7.5 points, Florien improving 3.9 points, Many High improving
by 2.9 points, and Zwolle High improving by .4 points.
Those schools with a 100% graduation rate include Converse, Ebarb, Negreet, Pleasant Hill and Zwolle High
followed by Many High with a 97.8 and Florien with a 96.7.
The following schools improved their K-8 Assessment Index: Many Elementary, Many Junior High, Negreet
High, Zwolle Elementary and Zwolle High. The following schools improved their K-8 Progress Index: Ebarb
High and Many Elementary.
Sabine Parish continues to have no schools labeled as “Academically Unacceptable” and no schools with
the letter grade “D” or “F”.
