Sabine Parish Special Education Advisory Council is seeking new members! This is strictly a volunteer opportunity that allows parents and community members to be a resource for the special education department. The Advisory Council’s purpose is to provide advice and feedback regarding special education procedures and resources and engage in outreach to the community to provide support and collaboration with respect to special education. Each September, in conjunction with Constitution Day and Constitution Week, each public school in Louisiana shall observe Celebrate Freedom Week. This is to ensure that all students receive age appropriate instruction on the topics related to freedom.

The Steve Carter Tutoring Program provides $1,500 vouchers to families of eligible K-12 public
school students per school year. The digital vouchers can be used to purchase high-quality
literacy and math tutoring.
• Available to K-12 grade public school students who are below reading and mathematics
proficiency.

Welcome Back to School Students
Louisiana Law now prohibits student use of a cell phone within the school. All cell phones and smart watches must be stowed in lockers or powered off during instructional hours. Specific school guidance, regulations, and consequences will be covered during open house and start of school assemblies.

Converse School Open House
This is a feedback survey for the 2023-2024 annual review of our district's Parent & Family Engagement Plan which supports the district policy that was last updated in 2018. Your feedback is important, this survey will be open until July 26.
A Back-to-School Rally will be held at Many Elementary School on the morning of Saturday, July 27, 2024, with registration beginning at 8 a.m. The featured speaker is Dr. Sara Ebarb. There will be a Free Throw contest among all the schools of the district. All students will have the chance to participate. The school with the best score will receive a gift card for their athletic department.

The Annual Converse High School Academic Brunch was held this morning at Clara Springs. Students were awarded for their academic successes in maintaining all A's for Principal's List/A Honor Roll or A's and B's for A-B Honor Roll for this school year. As always, CHS is proud of our Wildcats!
