At the March SPSB meeting the board and community partners recognized our students of the year and the ZHS boys basketball team for their achievements.


Congratulations to Mr. Shane Wright for being awarded the 2024 Region VII Superintendent of the Year for his dedication and commitment to our community, our schools, and our students.

APPROVED ACADEMIC CALENDAR 2024-25 School Calendar
At the February Board Meeting, the Sabine Parish School Board approved the school calendar for the 2024-25 academic year.

All Sabine Parish Schools and Offices Will Be Closed February 19-23 in Observance of Presidents Day and SPSB Winter Break.

All SPSB schools and offices will remain CLOSED on Thursday, January 25, 2024, out of an abundance of caution for localized flooding and the impact of multiple days of rain on our rural roads. The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority.
Schools and offices will resume regular operation on Friday, January 26, 2024. We will continue to update families as conditions change.
Stay safe and we look forward to welcoming everyone on Friday.

Our school board members generously invest their time and effort to nurture the growth and success of our schools. Their selfless dedication enhances the well-being of our entire community. In heartfelt gratitude, we extend a sincere thank you to our board members during School Board Recognition Month.


After consulting with our local law enforcement and Homeland Security, all SPSB schools and offices will remain closed on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, out of an abundance of caution for the possibility of icy road conditions in the morning. The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority.
Schools and offices will resume regular operation on Thursday, January 18, 2024. We will continue to update families as conditions change.
Stay safe and warm. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Thursday.


After consulting with Homeland Security and the National Weather Service, all SPSB schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, due to expected winter weather conditions. As always, our students and employees' safety and well-being are our priority. We will be working closely with our local and regional officials to monitor this weather situation regarding the possibility of a closure on Wednesday.

Brooks Boudreaux, CHS senior, received a plaque recognizing his accomplishments for the 2022/2023 baseball season. Brooks had an outstanding season and was awarded the following: 2023 LSWA First Team All State, LBCA First Team All-State, and Region 1 All Area Team.

Two Converse High School Sophomores won first and second place in the 10th - 12th Grade divisions of the Sabine Soil and Water Conservation District 2023 Poster Contest.
Makayla Parker(left) was awarded 1st Place and will receive a $50 Walmart gift card
Bailey Rascoe(right) was awarded 2nd Place and will receive a $25 Walmart gift card.
Makayla's 1st place poster will advance to the state competition. Good Luck!

Five Converse Wildcat Cheerleaders spent their Thanksgiving Break at Walt Disney World to perform in the UCA All-American Thanksgiving Tour by Varsity. They paraded through the streets of The Magic Kingdom on Thanksgiving Day.
Those in attendance were: Rowan Rascoe, Jaidyn Nash, Layla Garcie, Sienna LaRoux, and Gracie Ebarb.
